Awards

Charlie Lovick was awarded with the honourable Churchill Fellowship in 2008 which has recognised over 3,300 of Australia's best and brightest people since its inception in 1965.

The Trust awards people who, like Winston Churchill, are innovative, filled with a spirit of determination and possess a strong desire to benefit their community. It allows its recipients to design their own research project, travel the world and further their knowledge in their chosen field before returning to make a further contribution to Australian society. The aim of the award is that the ‘fellows’ will return with skills not readily available here.

Charlie and Glenda studied nature based & heritage tourism operations in Hawaii, the USA, Canada, the UK, Austria, Switzerland, Morocco and Scotland. Of particular interest were the horseback operations in Alpine areas and their relationship with their heritage, traditional culture, sustainability in their environments and the 'pass on' benefits to their local communities.
