The High Country of Victoria is the doorway to Australia's heritage and history. Charlie & Glenda Lovick have always been associated  with the High Country and have been conducting horse riding tours for 30 years. Set in the heart of The Man from Snowy River country, "The Hideout" makes the perfect school camp.
 


We have full accreditation with AHSE (Association of Horsemanship, Safety and Education in Australia). This accreditation covers a very comprehensive set of guidelines for conducting horse riding programs. We have an accredited safe site at Merrijig which means we are recognised as being well set up for the welfare and safety of both horses and riders. We have fully qualified staff who have completed extensive risk management and safety training, and have been successfully assessed in every aspect of carrying out a commercial horse riding venture. We are confident we are operating to the highest standards possible in the industry.

Our guides, as well as having many years riding experience themselves are fully experienced in supervising school children and providing a fun motivational time as well as instructing them in the basics of horsemanship, bushcraft and trail riding.

We can offer 3 exceptional venues for groups, Merrijig, Sheepyard Flat, and the Hideout in the Lower Howqua valley. All venues have large accommodation capacity, generally about 24 people for overnight stays. The locations are very scenic and the riding is superb. We can provide fully catered trips, or self catering if you would like to do your own. We can organise overnight camping trips, day trips, or half day trips. Our horses are very easy to handle, well trained and good natured. Our gear is well maintained, comfortable and safe. We can provide helmets, waterproof coats and we have a small supply of boots for those who don't own them.
