Mazda has had a long relationship with Charlie and Glenda Lovick stemming from our sponsorship of MCAV events.
With their help, we have run incentives, team building exercises and driver training events for Mazda Dealers, Mazda employees and Mazda commercial fleet buyers. Whether staying at one of their properties, or camping out in the ‘High Country’ it’s always been an enjoyable and unique experience.
Charlie’s wicked sense of humour and wealth of knowledge have given many in the ‘Mazda’ network an appreciation of this unique part of Victoria’s heritage. Then there’s the great country meals served by Glenda and her helpers, who could ask for more!
We always look forward to our trips away with the Lovicks. A truly unique experience.

Hello Charlie and Glenda,
Ralph and I just wanted to say thanks again for a fantastic weekend – we both really loved it. Even Ralph who had never ridden before is telling his work mates it is a real buzz! Both of us have muscles we never knew we had and are waddling like ducks – nevertheless we feel extremely happy that we came up.
I’m sure we’ll be back, both as a couple and with the family. I believe there is usually a Family Ride in March which we would be very interested in coming along to…
Please also say a big thank you to your staff: Christian, Laura, Shelly, Scotty, Paul, Eliza, Kate, Rockin Robyn, and the 2 young girls (hope I haven’t missed anyone!) – they were all fantastic!
Take care and we’ll see you again,
Ralph & Michelle Weller
Good afternoon everyone,
I have just finished my first weekend ride with Lovicks and wanted to write a short note to thank all the staff for making it such a fantastic time. I was a very inexperienced rider and could not have asked for better instruction and encouragement from all involved. The staff’s friendly faces and “nothing is too much trouble” attitude was absolutely brilliant. I’m afraid I can’t remember everyone’s names but please be sure to pass on my thank you a million times over to everyone who made the weekend so enjoyable.
Regards,
Stephanie Francis
Hi
I had forgotten how brilliant the rides are and how much I enjoy them – Easter ride was just fabulous, loved Spike (apart from age having diminished my spring and needing a rock to inelegantly leap aboard).
Again – thanks so much and I am sure I will be up more frequently again!Cheers

Dear Glenda, Charlie and staff
Just a brief note to say a big thank you for your efforts to give us such a fantastic ride experience in the high country this week.
Lucy, Sophie, Amelia and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and appreciated the care and professionalism of your staff.
The girls gain such a wonderful life experience from these events and you made them feel very welcome and capable.
We will certainly be back for a longer trek in the future, possibly next summer. And I will be heartily recommending Lovicks to my friends for a true Australian experience! All the best and keep them flintstones a flyin’!
Keith, Lucy, Sophie and Amelia
Hi there,
I just wanted to shoot you an email to say a BIG THANK YOU.
The dungeon campsite gave our young participants the perfect environment to talk, share, explore, relax, and think.
When we arrived at the campsite, we found it very clean and were excited about the potential the space could offer our program.
The trail riding session was also great. Your staff were professional and friendly and were always keen to assist the group’s needs throughout the activity.Again, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU and will be recommending Lovicks to others.
Cheers,
Mark Fowler

Xavier College have conducted week long horse riding camps with the Lovick’s for the past 3 years as part of our year 10 elective Outdoor Education program. It has been highly successful for a number of reasons and has seen the number of students who wish to attend this program double as word has spread amongst the students on their return.
The Lovick family are original settlers of the Merrijig and Howqua districts and are expert masters of horse as their tradition has been one of riding on the high plains as mountain cattlemen. I mentioned that the camp has been successful for a number of reasons so I will list them:
- Expert leadership in horsemanship and safety.
- Horses of excellent temperament and physical ability.
- An original experience with genuine mountain cattle people and the ability to be welcomed into their lifestyle.
- Excellent meals
- Access to the Howqua hills on the Lovick’s property next to the Howqua river.
- An education for the students by genuine mountain cattle people about the bush environment and its history.
I have no hesitation in recommend this educational experience as it is hard to find an experience that is so genuine and challenging.

To the Lovicks Team,
We wanted to write to you to say a big THANK YOU for an amazing weekend on the 13th/14th November 2009. The five of us had an absolutely fantastic time with you, and it was a very memorable experience. We loved the company, the horses, the riding, the food, the laughs and everything in between. Swimming bareback through the river with the horses was definitely a highlight, and we really appreciated your patience and dedication throughout the weekend. We were all challenged by the riding from learning how to canter properly to jumping over logs and galloping, and we can’t wait to come again.
You do a wonderful job up there, and your friendliness and welcoming nature made the adventure all the more enjoyable and relaxing.
Keep up the good work, and please pass on our thanks to the rest of the crew.
Kind Regards,
Amy, Steph, Elli, Laura and Julianne
